Time is such a strange thing…that whole idea that the days are long and the years are short really captures what I’m feeling this morning. This week one of my cuties had a birthday. I finished this quilt for her last March and have been keeping it hidden in the closet ever since. She loved it. The pattern is Swoon 16 by Camille Roskelley. By the time I finished it – I knew this one would have to stay in the family.
I quilted it using a curvy stitch on my machine. It takes forever but the result is so worth it. And having it heavy quilted this much increases how long it will last. I also backed it with a polyester fabric that my daughter loves. I was just remembering that she used to always fall asleep with a “soft cloth” held to her face. She doesn’t now, but it was when I saw her rubbing this on her cheek that it reminded me, “Oh yeah, she used to do that and now she doesn’t. When did she even stop?”
(And how did she get this big?!)
I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving next week!
