In our extended family gift exchange for, I drew my a family with one little girl, which I was excited about because I can totally do little girl presents. I got to go all out, and I had so. much. fun. I got her a water baby, I’d had one of them when I was a kid and I loved it. And then I made the doll a little doll dress and doll quilt. So fun! Last, I really wanted to put the doll in a little basket so my niece could carry it around, because that’s what my girls loved. And it turned out so cute, it was so fun to gift it to them and see how excited my niece (and her Mommy) were about it.
I just did a quilt top backed with minky…no batting this time, and quilted it in straight lines.
I designed the doll dress a year ago when I wanted to give my girls some doll clothes that they could take off and put on by themselves. Because it doesn’t have sleeves and it has a strip of velcro on the back, I think most 3-4 year olds can get it off and on on their own. Eventually I’ll get around to a tutorial to show you how to make the dress, but for now…just pretty pictures.
