Remember when it used to be all snowy and cold? Hooray for May! It’s been beautiful weather and I’m drinking it in. But back when it was cold, I was in Chicago for my brothers wedding! It was so fun to be there, and I’m so happy for both of them (don’t they look dangerously happy).
It was a quick trip, but I was able to tour the Frank Lloyd Wright house which was so fun – like way more fun than it sounds. Hearing about his process and the creative ideas behind the architecture was so interesting. Here’s some of his art glass…I could see that second one turning into a quilt.
But my favorite are these wood cut outs that were placed over the lighting in the dining room. Look at how intricate that is! Love it!
Anyway, back to quilting…I knew that I wanted to make him and his wife a quilt. I wanted it to be masculine and decided on Christmas colors since you can’t go wrong with a Christmas quilt. I love how the brown lattice in between the X’s turned out. This quilt finishes at 52″ x 52″ and you can download a free copy of the pdf here or on my free quilt patterns page.
I have some 4″ squares and some 2.5″ binding strips to giveaway, along with my pattern Confetti!
To enter, just check out my free quilt patterns page, and leave a comment on this post, telling me which pattern is your favorite!
Thanks guys! – Lauren
